EPD Surface Sample Workshop

13-16th September 2011

At the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland

Supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation and the ARVE Research Group at EPFL

Contact: Basil Davis (basil.davis(at)epfl.ch)

This workshop is being held to establish a pollen surface sample database within the European Pollen Database (EPD). The workshop will assimilate pollen surface sample data donated by scientists working throughout the European region to create a single fully-documented and quality controlled dataset to be made freely available to the scientific community via the EPD.

Participation is encouraged from anyone interested in the use of pollen surface samples and who enjoys working with databases. We especially encourage participation from early career scientists, and those from Eastern/Southern Europe and Russia. Funding for the few remaining places is limited, but support may be available on request. Please state briefly your background, experience, and why you would like to participate.

In anticipation of this workshop, we also appeal for donations of pollen surface sample data. Every contribution is welcome no matter how large or small! Please contact Basil Davis (basil.davis(at)epfl.ch) if you think you might be able to help.
